Prior to first use, wash thoroughly with warm soapy water. The dish is provided with a mat black enamel coating, which protects the dish against rust and significantly reduces the risk of burnt meals. The cast iron will become very hot. Use an oven glove to remove the dish from the oven. Place the dish onto the wooden base and put grilled, baked or wok-cooked ingredients in it. The cast iron retains the heat keeping the dish warm at the table. Do not put the wooden base in the oven. Wash with warm soapy water after use and let immediately dry thoroughly. Never put the dish and the base in the dishwasher.
