Prior to first use, wash thoroughly with warm soapy water. The pot is provided with a mat black enamel coating, which protects the pot against rust and significantly reduces the risk of burnt meals. The cast iron will become very hot. Use an oven glove to remove the pot from the oven. Place the pot onto the wooden base and put grilled, baked or wok-cooked ingredients in it. The cast iron retains the heat keeping the dish warm at the table. Do not put the wooden base in the oven. Wash with warm soapy water after use and let immediately dry thoroughly. NEVER put the pot and the base in the dishwasher.
