Prior to first use, wash thoroughly with warm soapy water. Bake your ingredients in the pot in the oven. The cast iron will become very hot. Use an oven glove to remove the pot from the oven and place it onto the wooden base. The cast iron retains the heat, keeping the dish warm at the table. Do not put the wooden base in the oven. Maintenance: clean the pot and wooden board with warm water, a soft cloth and a mild detergent. Never put them in the dishwasher. Regularly grease the wooden base with vegetable oil to maintain its colour.
